1st Full Week in the Bentley

When I say the Bentley, I mean the Bentley Historical Library where I am doing one of my three Summer internships.  The first full week was quite interesting.  Basically, my project is to build a GLBTQ Timeline Exhibit among other things.  The exhibit will launch at the end of September or the very beginning of October.  The aim is to have it launched by October 11, National Coming Out Day.  I spent the week going through various collections and looking for pieces that would be interesting to put into the exhibit.  I also did a sort of ride-along with the acquisitions archivist a saw how she reaches out to other groups on campus to get their stuff.  I learned how to pull materials and met a whole bunch of very nice people who have the patience of Job.  In short, my first week was pretty awesome and I am having a lot of fun with my project. This week, it sounds like I might be digitizing a bunch of the stuff that I pulled from the various collections. Honestly, I hope so!  I am very curious to see what the process is like (I know it in theory but haven't ever actually done it).

1st week, 1st internship = YAY!
