Sleep

Undergrad and grad students alike are notorious for not getting enough sleep.  Being a little older this second time through graduate school, I fully realize how important sleep is.  How the heck did I make it through college the first time on so little sleep.  Last night, I had, what I would tell my Comm 102 students, a content-irrelevant experience.  I started reading something that I found quite enjoyable and experienced time displacement.  I looked up and it was 4am.  I got 4 hours of sleep.  When I awoke, it was like my brain was on dumb.  It took me three tries to make tea properly - very embarrassing.  Needless to say, my aim is to go to bed at a more reasonable hour today.  I just function better on a consistent full night's sleep.  Honestly, I think it has been one of the secrets of my success here.  Better to be a little behind on homework than a lot behind on rest to the point where you can't focus.
